took on an apprenticeship in a broad's boatyard in Loddon as a Hire Fleet Engineer and then moved on to other engineering roles.

In 1989 my-self and a former work colleague started a Marine Equipment Supply company in Beccles, which became one of UK's leading parts suppliers with a very healthy worldwide export customer base.

Throughout my time growing the business I was involved in industry groups at both National and International leaves which helped to shape the leisure marine industry. I retired in 2015. My wife was also involved in the business and as was one of our three sons. We are now both retired and very much enjoy life here in Oulton Broad.

Never having been involved in local issues before it will be a learning curve, as I get a feel for all the things this vibrant and attractive part of the east coast offers during this challenging period. We have far more positives to work with than most..
