Census 2021

21 March 2021

Countdown to Census day

As we approach the 21st March, the national media campaign to promote the Census is now in full swing, and many households will already have received their Census invitation or paper questionnaire.

Your help in promoting the Census locally, using your unique reach as local councils, would be much appreciated. We particularly want to ensure that anyone who is isolated or may not have easy access to the internet knows that there is telephone support available should they need it. There is a national Census helpline and language line available (details here Contact us - Census 2021), and we also have two Census Support Centres in East Suffolk offering local support.

Here are the 3 key things you can do to support the promotion of the Census:

1

Promote the ‘Census Support Centres’ in East Suffolk

We have two dedicated ‘Census Support Centres’ (CSC) in East Suffolk – one at the Marina Centre in Lowestoft which will be operated by staff from East Suffolk Customer Services, and one at the Station House in Campsea Ashe operated by the social enterprise there. They will not be open to the public at present, but can offer telephone assistance with completion of a Census form and answer general enquiries.

Station House, Campsea Ashe CSC: 07856810828

2

Follow ‘Census 2021’ on social media

Census 2021 has a presence on all the major social media platforms. If you use social media you can follow and share their content so that it reaches more people. We will also be putting out our own personalised messages on our East Suffolk Council accounts.

3

Raise awareness within your parish/town

There are lots of Census resources you can share with people/organisations that you communicate with in your area:
